Cure: Providing heart care

The Foundation runs Sameer Malik Heart Care Foundation Fund in which it provides free surgical and other heart care interventions to people who are needy and under-privileged. On an average the Foundation provides over 500 such interventions in a year. The Foundation also runs various banks for providing pacemakers, valves, life saving drugs, stents etc to the needy. The Foundation also provides subsidy upto 50% in various investigations and heart care drugs.

Revival after sudden cardiac death:

The Foundation runs a Cpr 10 campaign in which it provides training to general public in hands only cardiopulmonary resuscitation 10. It is based on the CPR 10 mantra (Savitri Mantra) which in English and Hindi is as under:
In English: "To revive a person from sudden cardiac death, within 10 minutes of death (earlier the better), at least for the next 10 minutes (longer the better), compress the centre of the chest of the dead person by 1 ½" distance continuously with a speed of 10x10 i.e. 100 per minute."
In Hindi it can be remembered as - “Marne ke dus minute ke andar (jitna jaldi utna behtar), kam se kam agle dus minute tak (jitni der tak utna behtar, 10x10=100 ki gati se, apni chhati peetne ke bajaye mare hue aadmi ki chhati peeto.”

Sameer Malik Heart Care Foundation Fund

Within the Heart Care Foundation Fund, a special project has been instituted in the memory of Mr. Sameer Malik with an objective to help and save at least one life every day. The Sameer Mailk Heart Care Foundation Fund will aim at providing financial and technical medical assistance for up to 30 lakhs a month to heart patients who otherwise cannot afford treatment. The funds will be available to use from April 1, 2014 and will provide financial assistance for stents, bypass surgery, valves, pacemakers or surgery for congenital heart disease. … Read More
