Heart Care Foundation of India for the first time conceptualized and field tested a new health awareness module on the lines of 26th January Defence parade. The first ever parade coincided with World Health Day 7th April 2001 and was organized from Vijay Ghat to Lal Qilla. Flagged off by Smt. Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of Delhi, the parade was a mix of tableaus based on health themes and march( Walk) by schools, colleges and nursing schools on various health themes. The Foundation also conceptualized the concept of low cost health tableaus by hiring three wheelers, jipsy van, truck or tempo and placing banners / flex banners / blue coloured cloth boards with thermocol messages. Ever since, the Foundation is organizing Perfect Health Parade on an annual basis to earmark WHO day nearing 7th April.
